Cognituv, LLC is a Delaware limited liability company with its principal place of business at 5004 Bee Creek Road, Suite 320, Spicewood, TX 78669, USA (“Cognituv,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
It covers cognituv.com, the Cognituv Sales Portal, and the Cognituv Connect™ platform. We sell to businesses and institutions, not to consumers, and most of the information we hold is business contact information rather than personal information.
1. Information you give us
- Contact and inquiry information — your name, business email address, telephone number, company, and job title when you request a quote, submit a contact form, request a case study, or use an ROI calculator.
- Project information — facility details, equipment inventories, operating conditions and project requirements you share so we can scope, quote and support a solution.
- Account information — the name, email address and organization associated with your login when you use the Cognituv Sales Portal or Cognituv Connect.
- Order and service information — billing and shipping details, purchase orders, warranty and RMA claims, and the correspondence around them.
2. Information we collect automatically
When you visit our websites we collect standard technical information through cookies and analytics tools: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, the page that referred you, and the dates and times of your visits. We use this to understand how the site is used and to keep it secure.
3. Facility and equipment data from Cognituv Connect
Cognituv Connect collects readings from sensors and meters installed in your facility — ultraviolet dose, indoor air quality measurements, energy consumption, differential pressure, equipment status and similar operating data.
This data describes buildings and equipment, not people. It is not used to identify, monitor or evaluate any individual. We process it to operate the service, produce your measurement and verification reporting, support your equipment, and improve our products. How that data may be used, retained and shared is governed by your Cognituv Connect agreement, which controls if it differs from this policy.
4. How we use information
- Respond to your inquiries and prepare quotations, proposals and ROI analyses.
- Process orders, deliver products, and administer warranty and return claims.
- Operate Cognituv Connect and produce measurement and verification reporting.
- Provide technical support, service and training.
- Send you information about products and services you have asked about or purchased.
- Improve our products, documentation and websites.
- Protect our systems, prevent misuse, and meet our legal and tax obligations.
5. We do not sell your information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising.
6. When we share information
- Service providers who work on our behalf — hosting, analytics, email delivery, customer relationship management, payment processing and shipping — under obligations to protect the information and use it only for the services they provide to us.
- Authorized distributors and channel partners, where one is quoting, supplying or servicing your account, and only to the extent needed to do so.
- Professional advisors such as our accountants, auditors, insurers and legal counsel.
- A successor, in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets.
- Authorities, when required by law or legal process, or where necessary to protect our rights, our people, or the safety of others.
7. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep the site working, remember your preferences, and measure how the site is used. You can control or block cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
8. How long we keep information
We keep information for as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, and afterwards only as long as required to meet our legal, tax, accounting, warranty and contractual obligations. Warranty and order records are retained through the applicable warranty period and any period required for tax and audit purposes.
9. How we protect information
We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure and destruction. Traffic between your browser and our websites is encrypted using HTTPS, and Cognituv Connect field devices communicate over LoRaWAN using AES-128 encryption.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your choices and rights
You may ask us to:
- Provide a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete information, where we are not required to keep it.
- Provide your information in a portable format.
- Stop sending you marketing communications — you can also unsubscribe from any marketing email directly.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state or national privacy law, including the right to appeal a decision we make about your request. Contact us at the address below and we will respond within the time your law allows. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
11. International transfers
We are based in the United States and process information here. If you contact us or use our services from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
12. Children
Our websites and services are intended for business use and are not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and change the effective date above. Material changes will be identified as such.
